National Dance Day 2011-Easton, CT

What:
National Dance Day, a grassroots initiative that encourages the nation, young and old, to move! , families, organizations, and communities from across the nation come together through their creative expression in dance.
Easton Country Day School is organizing a town wide effort to participate in National Dance Day. Specifically,  Students’ CREATE (Coalition for the Reinforcing Enrichment of Adolescents Through Expression), a group of creative high school age students, wants to celebrate National Dance Day by showing what a small creative force can make happen. We invite you to come join “The  Macarena Project – Can You Dance to it?” with us and to test our theory; you can dance the Macarena to any song! We will be submitting a tape of the two wide performance to the National Dance Day website.
When:
            Saturday, July 30th from 1pm-3: 30pm
*Our Macarena dance (that will be filmed) will occur at 2pm
Where:
            Easton Community Center
Why:
National Dance Day continues to generate the national awareness for dance and the arts. And it has proven it’s value in bringing individuals of all ages together through a positive force that has no boundaries and cultivates imagination and passion.
